Classic Cheeseburger Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (80/20)
- 4 burger buns
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp butter (for toasting buns)

Toppings (optional):
- Lettuce
- Tomato slices
- Pickle slices
- Onion slices
- Ketchup
- Mustard
- Mayonnaise
Instructions
- Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and gently shape into patties. Season both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook the patties for 3–4 minutes per side for medium doneness.
- Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking. Cover briefly to melt the cheese.
- Butter the burger buns and toast them until golden.
- Assemble the burgers by adding your favorite sauces, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and the cheesy beef patty.
- Serve immediately with fries, chips, or a fresh salad.
Time & Temperature
- Cooking Temperature: Medium-high heat (about 400–450°F / 205–230°C)
- Cook Time: 6–8 minutes total (3–4 minutes per side)
- Internal Temperature: 160°F (71°C) for fully cooked ground beef.
